Photo 1 - Grand Palace
I came across these old photos of Bangkok in the Rat Burana Museum, a community museum about an old district across the Chao Phraya.
These were taken in 1942 when a great flood hit Bangkok. Many areas were only accessible by boats.
Photo 1 – This shot of the Grand Palace and the Temple of the Emerald Buddha wasn’t taken from the Chao Phraya River. It was taken from land, on Sanam Luang!
Photo 2 - The Royal Plaza with the King Rama V Equestrian Monument on the right and the Ananda Samakhom Throne Hall in the background.
Photo 3 – Commuters at Hua Lamphong Railway Station in Bangkok. Wonder if the trains were running then?
If you have any favourite of Bangkok, do share them with us. We look forward to your contribution.
