We were on a long camper-van journey up the North West coast of Scotland. Having left the remote and beautiful hamlet of Applecross after a hearty breakfast, we took a slow drive over the Northern tip of the peninsula, and came across the most dramatic scenery.
Not another human being in sight, and across the other side of Loch Torridon, dark, brooding mountains like something out of 'The Lord of the Rings'.
Round another corner, and the most amazing island set in contrasting sunlight against the dark granite of the backdrop. It looked just like a decorated cake, and got us thinking about a late Highland lunch in the next friendly village that we passed through.
